A Few Less Weeds

This morning Marlene and I managed to clear two rows of weeds from the garden.  I will try and get back to it tomorrow morning and maybe Friday morning.  Hard work but it looks so much better when the weeds are gone.  THANK YOU MARLENE.  It's so much easier working with someone than all alone.

Stopped by Sungarten this morning--thought I might pick up a few tomatoes for dinner and I nearly fell over at the sight of all these tomatoes!!!

Hey Fellow Farmers--get picking before the season's over!!!

Count down

New and Updated

Here's some news and an update.  Sungarten Farm is getting older and is adding a retirement countdown feature.  My personal countdown is zero because I have already pulled that trigger but others on the farm are still counting down.  There will be new authors as well but I will let them introduce themselves are they chime in.

Look for the latest on garden information, recipes, how to's, retirement updates and whatever comes along.

The First Workday at Sungarten Farm

We started up the garden/farm for the 2012 growing season.  You might notice that the garden has grown, thanks to Farmer Dave.  In the picture, where the blooming sage is growing is close to where the garden ended last year.  See how much more we have this year?

Here we are working the farm.  Dave is doing some last minute tilling.  Over his right shoulder are the sage bushes left over from last year.

Here's another shot of the sage with Taylor hanging out outside of the garden but still within the fenced part of the yard.  Dave did a lot of work this winter and now the dogs can be outside with us but not in the garden since they tend to step on the plants.

And Deborah is starting the bee hives again this year.  Here are a few more pictures of the intrepid farmers and their dogs.
