The Farm Starts Up for 2011
This weekend started the new season for Sungarten Farm. The garden was cleared and tilled and composted in anticipation of planting for this coming weekend April 9 and 10. We've added another family to the cooperative with the addition of Jim and Leslie Cundiff. Thank you both for working so hard along side of us in getting the dirt ready for digging. Here's to having another bountiful crop.
On Friday, April 8, we will go D&M Greenhouses and buy some plants for the farm. Saturday is the scheduled data for putting the plants into the ground.
Hope everyone is excited about the prospect of fresh vegetables, herbs and a few flowers this summer and fall.

Farm in Transition
The farm is going through it's transition from summer farm to winter farm. We removed the peppers while still harvesting over 2 bags of peppers. We left the bell peppers as they are still full of peppers. So far we've planted broccoli, romaine lettuce, some bok choy, cilantro and red cabbage. More to come in the next month as we harvest the sweet potatoes, eggplants and the remains of the peppers and tomatoes.

Pepper Jam and the end of Vacation
To commerate the end of my vacation, I canned 20 jars of pepper jam. Also created hang tags to go on the jars. Now all I have to do is wait for it to set up.
